Ampfield is part of a greater heritage area, which spreads across Hursley, Otterbourne, North Baddesley and Romsey.
Our community is served by a Parish Council that was amongst the first to be formed in 1894. More than a hundred years later the Parish Council is a thriving, respected, and independent democratic organisation.
Parish Councils are the smallest areas of civil administration in England providing the statutory tier of local government closest to the people.
Ampfield Parish council has been in existence since 1894 when Gladstone's Government introduced the Local Government Act.
Town and Parish Councils are an essential part of the structure of local democracy and have a vital role in acting on behalf of the communities they represent. The council has a wide range of legal duties and powers, such as the maintenance of community buildings and land and much more.
Provide a democratically elected voice on behalf of the community, on planning applications and other proposals that affect the parish.
Improving the local area
